Jules and the Bees
Inktober 2016 Day, The Nineteenth: "Here you go Mr.Bee! This'll make you feel all better! Go on, Drink up! We gah'be strong and happy to fly again, Mr.Bee!" And that's our Jules. As grand kids go- boy they sure did break the mold with her. It started with her coming to my farm and seeing the dead and dying bees and asking about'em and I'd tell her about the Great Sadness. Then I'd tell her about things like sugar water. Then she'd hear things elsewhere. Things like from her Momma saying, 'God I'd die without my Coffee.' And then more things from me like if we lose the bees, we lose Coffee. So what does Jules do? She gets some sugar in a salt shaker, fills a soda pop bottle with some water and she goes around helping all these sick bees with what she calls -get this- 'Bee Sweet Tea'. Pours it right into a dead leaf and moves it close to the little bugger so they don't gotta crawl too far. She only told us years later that it was because she was trying to save the coffee to save her Momma's life. What a thing, that Child. They sure broke the mold with her. It's almost scary... like- watching her sometimes tend to about ten bees around her- it's quite a sight.
