Blood Moon/ Hunter Moon {2 Sizes}
Blood Moon/ Hunter Moon {2 Sizes}
Inspired by the powerful October of Two Thousand and Twenty wherein there was not one but two Full Moons. The first was the October 1st Harvest Moon, celebrating work, food, life, and nourishment and the second was the Hallowe’en’s Hunter Moon aka The Blood Moon {also an ultra rare Blue Moon that year} for action, and the relentless pursuit of goals and dreams. It is a balance made extra enjoyable in the context of a known fable like Little Red Riding Hood whose themes of seduction lining one’s path helps to give this piece a crimson burst of irrepressible passion dancing with the darkness, grace flirting with nature, whilst seduction and carnality circle one another. The Title of Blood Moon/ Hunter Moon is a nod to the duality that is symbolized in the Werewolf legend. It was made using inks of red and black. The Former mixed with water and applied using brush and the latter with my trusty ‘dipping’ fountain pen to tell their own story of beguiling contrasts…
