This piece is painted using the Art of Coffee Stains. {Yes Thats Right. Coffee.} Someone either had too much to drink or she she fell in. At any rate she may want to watch the volume on those hiccoughs lest the giants hear her or perhaps it will attract one of the sweet lady-giants who will scoop her up and give her a warm place to dry off near the Hearth and sober up. There is something of the world of Fae that touches us all when we have imbibed the wine. I imagine the time and years within the grapes has also been graced with dust from the twinkling toes of these pixies on more than one occasion…

This is “Pickled”. A Moment of revelry and reckless fun. It is a moment were the things we know in the world of matter meet with the Faerie realm- a place that is not bound by the rules of men. Yet here they talk in a language they both speak: Festive escape. As the creator of this piece I cant tell you the myriad of feelings I have looking upon this- it has my favorite things: Wine, Faeries, The Moon, A concentrated layering of coffee {which took ages"}. I thrill everytime I see that deep red wine in a glass… painted with Coffee.

EMBELLISHMENT: It comes with a golden border hand-drawn onto the print by myself, the artist, as well as a golden signature. It is numbered with your own golden number that says where in this very limited series your piece falls.

ABOUT THE PROJECT “Pickled” was created using the art of Coffee Stains as part of a hashtag ‘Februfairy’ art challenge in February of 2021. Painting with Coffee is a tricky business. It is not like water color in that is rehydrates as soon as water touches it. This makes it difficult to ‘layer’ it. Thus I found the best way was to ‘stain’ it with thick dark puddles to achieve values of light and shadow. There is an unmatched romance to a well-executed Coffee-stain painting and here I have 40 prints of a never-before offered piece.

ARTIST’S NOTE: Images with the Model holding the piece is without my embellishment border, signature, and series number. All three aspects are added by own hand before I send them out to the lucky owners.
