Eupheme was a Naiad {water nymph} who tended and cared for the Nine muses as newborns after the nine wild night that happened between Zues and Mnemosyne {The Muse of Memory}. This is one of my largest pieces ever for the Ghost in the Gaslight art project. I created a concept sketch during the Nymphember challenge of 2022. For an entire year I looked at the piece- yearning to explore further. I went Large and it was a belabored visual story.

She required many ways for me to tell the story of light and shadow. And now she rises out of her secret lake, tending to the nine muses as newborns, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Urania, Kleio, Thalia, Erato, Euterpe, Terpsichore, and Calliope would soon grow to inspire civilization to express itself and reach for the stars but Eupheme doesnt get the credit she deserves. Well now she is properly celebrated. There is so much here to sweep you away from your day to day thoughts and I have that wonderful feeling of movement. The Duo tone colorscheme of black, white, and gold holds everything in a special light as though they were statues.

I’m sure she will command the same humility and reverence for you as she has for me.

I love how this piece evokes the feeling of being cared for. One of the best emotions we can have. It also brings of the feeling of caring for someone or something outseide yourself- bigger than yourself. This is good value. The best kind.
